The British Laryngological Association has formed a strategic partnership with ENT UK, the professional membership body representing ear, nose and throat surgery and head, neck and thyroid surgery in the UK. The partnership aims to work together for the benefit of Otorhinolaryngology surgeons and surgical trainees and to improve healthcare delivery.
ENT UK supports members at every stage of their careers – a total of more than 2,300 ENT healthcare professionals and medical practitioners, and is a valuable source of medical information for patients as well as practitioners. ENT UK seeks to improve the care available to patients suffering from conditions of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck by supporting research, providing education for specialists and championing high standards in training.
ENT UK and the BLA already enjoy a strong relationship. During the COVID-19 pandemic, both ENT UK and The BLA worked closely to create, contribute and offer guidelines in response to the pandemic, such as ‘A graduated return to elective activities for Laryngology’ and ‘Tracheostomy Recommendations during the COVID-19 Pandemic.’
Together, we will build on this relationship to develop surgical education, training, and research in otolaryngology further.
“ENT UK is excited about the new partnership with BLA. By collaborating more closely, we can advocate for best practices, support clinicians, and create more opportunities for research and education within the specialty.” -Helen Cocks, ENT UK President
BLA President Declan Costello expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, “The BLA are delighted to be partnered with ENT UK. Both organisations aim to promote best practice and to facilitate education, research and audit. By working together, we can reach more clinicians for the benefit of our patients.”
ENT UK offers a wide range of benefits to members, such as discounted access to our year-round programme of events, including our flagship conference, BACO International, exclusive grant opportunities for research and education projects, support for Clinical Excellence Award applications and more.
