Abstract submission for Cutting Edge Laryngology 2024 is now open

Cutting Edge Laryngology is the official conference organised by the British Laryngological Association (BLA). We are bringing our profession together to advance the cause of those with voice, swallowing and breathing problems by presenting the latest clinical, scientific, and technological advances in Laryngology.

Abstracts must be submitted by midnight on Friday, 7 June 2024.
Submitters can indicate whether they prefer an oral presentation or poster presentation, however the final decision will be taken by the BLA Scientific Committee.

Abstract notifications will be sent to presenting authors only in July 2024.

We are accepting abstracts in the following categories:

Voice

Dysphagia

Airway stenosis

Paediatric laryngology

Neurolaryngology

Early laryngeal cancer

Basic sciences

Submit an abstract

Abstracts are anonymously peer-reviewed, scored and allocated on merit as to oral communications and poster presentations.

Abstracts should be prepared as follows. A maximum word limit of 250 words (excluding title, authors and references) will be strictly enforced. Abstracts should be structured, with subheadings Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

First author must present the paper.  For your abstract to be included in the programme, the presenting author must be registered and the registration fee paid.

Please note that abstracts must be unpublished and must not have been presented previously at a national meeting in the UK.

To be considered for presentation at Cutting Edge Laryngology it is essential to submit your abstract before midnight on Friday, 7 June.  

To ensure a fair and smooth review process, abstracts submitted via e-mail will not be accepted. Therefore, it is essential to adhere to the provided guidelines as stated above and use the online submission system to ensure a successful abstract submission.

The Scientific Programme Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted for presentation, with  consideration given to the author’s preference.

Accepted authors will be notified of the decision by July 2024.
