 Applications are invited for the above post, to commence from August 1st 2018, for a period of 12 months. The aim of the post is to provide comprehensive training in Advanced Voice, Airway and Swallowing disorders. The Fellowship training will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital. The post has the advantage of multidisciplinary management with Speech and Language Therapist, Neurophysiology, Respiratory Physicians, Anaesthetist, Upper GI surgeons and Gastroenterologists.

The FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent is highly essential and some experience in the field of laryngology to Senior Specialty Trainee level or equivalent. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) is also essential

The post would ideally suit an individual who intends to obtain a Consultant post with a subspecialist interest in Laryngology. It is accepted that the successful candidate may apply for a Consultant’s post during the Fellowship, but the expectation is that you will complete the 12 month period of Fellowship Training.

Whilst the post does not carry a National Training Number, you will have an Assigned Educational Supervisor. You will receive annual and study leave together with financial support for attending courses.

Salary Scale:     The Terms and Conditions of Service for Specialty Doctors – England (2008) will apply. The pay scale commences at £32,478-£48,123 per annum, rising by increments subject to meeting the criteria for pay progression. The starting salary will be calculated in accordance with Schedule 14, Terms and Condition of Service for Specialty Doctors.
